US and UK notices flag Mondraker's ONOFF S9 handlebar recall
By insidebike
US and UK notices published on 3 and 4 September cover selected Mondraker bikes with ONOFF S9 carbon handlebars. The UK regulator says insufficient wall thickness can cause affected bars to crack or fracture during normal riding, risking loss of control.
Stop riding affected bikes until the handlebar is replaced. Check your bicycle using Mondraker’s serial-number tool; the number is on the down tube or beneath the bottom bracket. Contact an authorised Mondraker dealer for a free reinforced replacement. Model lists vary by market, so use the checker and your regional notice rather than relying on the bike’s family name alone.
The US notice covers about 177 bicycles, plus approximately 52 sold in Canada, and reports five breakages including two minor-abrasion injuries. These are not worldwide totals. Mondraker’s underlying recall dates to 11 July; this week’s news is the regional regulator notices.
